Thank you for your input this morning

Decisions to be made approve the following (or discuss further):

1  Approve the project and the $100 to Amy for work and materials
2  Ask Amy to set up the Large Star so that we can add it on Christmas Eve... AMY?
3  Decide whether to keep the purple up for Christmas or not
4  White stars would be fine rather than metallic (white will show up and are easier) ?
5  Find out from Brian or someone whether we already have a bar for across the top on reredos.  BRIAN?
6  Decide on a day for installation and get 2 volunteers for that day YOU?
She is available on Monday Nov 21 or Tues Nov 22 or Friday evening Nov 25
who is willing to help and when?
I see the church has been reserved for Saturday Nov 26, but Amy is not available then
Church appears to be free up til 5:30 on monday and tuesday and free all of friday the 25th

i am attaching her proposal again

I initially said yes without thinking that the red and green we often have will not do a whole lot for the purple and vice versa.  One option would be to have another flower color scheme this year, using, for example, pink poinsettias or all white or some combination of the two.  That and some creative use of gold ribbon could give us a new look fairly easily.  Another option would be to take down the purple/blue stips and replace with white.  Gold, yellow, and anything other than stark white tend to be lost on the reredos.  Red is OK.

4  White stars would be fine rather than metallic (white will show up and are easier) ?

Probably.

We need to coordinate (for Christmas) with Altar Guild.  Right now, the calendar is holding December 23 for greening of the church.  Joe and I will be away the weekend after Thanksgiving (just before Advent begins).  What would happen if we did this on Wednesday night after the Thanksgiving service (or even before)?  It happens that we’ll be in town.  Might mess up someone’s holiday plans, though.

I see the church has been reserved for Saturday Nov 26, but Amy is not available then

Brian says that he can make the church available for us on Monday evening the 21st (not Tuesday)
Mary A and Gay  can do Monday (Joe - questionable)
no one has said Friday
Wednesday is not an option for Amy
(I am not available any to the times and will be unavailable Dec 19 through mid January)

Brian says that he can put up a bar.. but he would need to do it this Wednesday or the following Nov 9 or 16 (so we need to decide pronto
Amy, would you rather do your own set up?

Amy says she can easily set it up for adding the large star for Christmas eve, she just needs to show someone how when we do the initial set up

I think a white and gold color scheme for Christmas would be spectacular (I have some gold cloth i am happy to loan to the church) and i would not mind pink
and keeping the purple on reredos is simple, a great virtue

I will be fine with whatever everyone else decides.  Is the purple cloth the strips we already have?  If so, there is some gold in them.

I can do set up Monday or Tuesday setup, not Friday.

Peace,
Liane

yes, the purple it is what you made Liane.. I believe there is gold in it
even if there is not i still think gold will work, as long as it its metallic, not the "gold" we used for Easter
i think we have a critical mass for Monday.. Amy, Mary Alcuin and Liane and  maybe Gay, and unlikely but maybe Joe
wish i could join you

Carolyn
