Dear friends -- The Washington Saxaphone Quartet gives a terrific concert, one I look forward to each year.  The first time I went I think I went solely to support Loaves & Fishes -- but they blew my socks off with their musicianship, sonority, and programming  both of music written for their instruments and music arranged for their instruments.  Cheesecake at intermission isn't a bad tradition, either!   I am now a groupie, and hope any of you who have never had this pleasure will be able to carve out the time Saturday (tomorrow) to enjoy.   Peace -- Gay

The 20th annual Washington Saxophone Quartet concert to benefit Loaves and Fishes takes place tomorrow (Saturday) at 3:00 p.m. The quartet will be joined by National Symphony Orchestra cellist Jim Lee and will perform music by Elgar, Villa-Lobos and Tchaikovsky. Admission is $20. For more information, contact Earl Foote at (301) 982-5127. Since this is the 20th annual benefit, we aim for a high parish turnout. We hope you can attend the concert; it is always a great event.
