New pledge from Rob, that's great, thanks. I think that makes 79 pledges and I'll put a notice on FB and update the list.

Also reminder, we're meeting this week on Thursday.

Great news.  I just nailed down this important pledge - City Diner - for the Sweatshop Free Campaign.  It is a very big and popular diner at 90th Street and Broadway.  Please update our list.

that's great!!

City Diner has the same owner as Manhattan Diner (the former Key West Diner) and Metro Diner, all on Bway. does that mean they have pledged as well?

those three diners are three of the biggest restaurants on that section of Bway. getting three or even one of them to pledge is a huge victory. congratulations rob!

I don’t think that the Manhattan Diner and the Metro Diner have pledged as well, as I obtained the City Diner Pledge from the manager and not from the owner.  I doubt that he could sign on behalf of anyone but City Diner.  I would think that we would need to obtain pledges from Manhattan Diner and Metro Diner directly from their managers.

I have tried MetroDiner in the past-just once. The managers were surprisingly rude-despite the fact that I have gone there for years. Congratulations, Robert!

I am an enthusiastic supporter of Zephyr Teachout for governor and Tim Wu for Lieutenant Governor.  Zephyr Teachout is an expert on anti-corruption efforts, and we can certainly use strong anti-corruption efforts in NY State politics.  As showcased recently in the New York Times, Governor Cuomo shut down the Moreland Commission which he had set up to address corruption in politics, with great fanfare when he was elected.  I heard Zephyr Teachout speak and was really impressed by her commitment to a fair shake for all New Yorkers.

I encourage you to vote for Zephyr Teachout and Tim Wu in the Democratic primary on Tuesday, September 9th and to get  out the word about her.  A strong vote for this team will show Governor Cuomo and others that New Yorkers want a fair shake for all New Yorkers and to deal with corruption in politics.

Best wishes,,

Miriam Rabban
