Hey Joann,

I meant absolutely no disrespect, on the contrary I admire the work that NMASS and its members do. It made sense to us to bring these ideas to our regular group meeting for discussion. If the group is interested in possibly exploring other directions, I would fully expect discussions to happen with NMASS and CSWA leadership.  I would hope and expect that there's room to raise these kinds of strategic issues.  In the end, I'll support whatever the workers and our campaign as a whole wants to do.

Hi Eric,

I am surprised that you are not raising your disagreements with our organizing direction with NMASS directly. It is insulting and disrespectful to NMASS leaders who are putting their all into organizing with other workers to fight not just for better working conditions, but for better living conditions as well.

As promised at the last meeting, I called Joanne Lum and inivted her
to come to the next meeting on Thurday, March 14th at 6:30 p.m. at
Trinity Lutheran Church. Thanks to Hope for arranging for us to meet
at the church.

I had talked with Eric, who does the agenda, about topics to cover,
and discussed topics with Joanne as well. Topics would include
o overview of NMASS, Chinese Workers Association and Justice Will Be
Served (forgive me if I don't have the names quite right)
o rellationship of Sweatshop Free/community residents to these organizations
o goals/objectives/desired accomplishments
o structure to reach those goals (issues of coalition or other structures)
o memo distributed at the last meeting and reactions to it
o moving forward

I look forward to seeing people at the meeting on Thursday.

Best wishes,

Miriam
