Hello!

Here is an update to the Petrosino Square - Food Cart controversy.

There was a meeting on Thursday, (12/20), with the Community Board 2 leaders, Council Member Margaret S. Chin, from the 1st Council District, and representatives from the Department of Parks and Recreation.

After hearing Community Board 2, and Council Member Margaret S. Chin, expressing their concern about having a Food Cart in Petrosino Square (located by Spring and Lafayette Streets), the Department of Parks and Recreation decided to have the Food Cart moved to a new location.

This is a significant victory for the Spring / Lafayette Street neighborhood!  Community Board 2, and Council Member Margaret S. Chin, were determined to keep Petrosino Square free of commercial trade, and open for the residents to enjoy without constant interruption.

Great results - great activism!!

Regards,

Beverly
