No Justice, No Pizza – Domino's Beware! with The Justice Will Be Served Campaign

Pizza workers and supporters rallied against their employer Domino’s
over years of unpaid wages and retaliation experienced when they stood
up for their rights. During the rally they celebrated their recent, first of its
kind court ruling permitting them to sue Domino’s Pizza Corporation as
a joint employer along with the individual franchise holder, which would
also empower other fast food workers in establishments like McDonalds
and retail workers at Walmart The right of the Latino, African and
Bangladeshi workers to proceed with the suit they filed in 2010 against
Domino Pizza’s franchise owner David Melton and the Domino's Corp.
is a huge victory. The workers had commenced suit after receiving below
the minimum wage, were forced to make deliveries during extreme
weather conditions, didn’t have a place to take a break or eat during their
excessively long work hours.

many of you might know that the Bloomberg administration is trying to lease out public housing land for 99 years to private developers on the West Side. this has turned into one of the largest political issues in the neighborhood.

you might recall the yuppie crowd of commenters on the West Side Rag who debased and denigrated the Saigon Grill workers.

well, they are at it again... this time debasing and denigrating public housing tenants.

http://www.westsiderag.com/2013/03/28/development-plans-revealed-for-douglass-houses-fight-continues

(while noone advocated tearing down public housing in this set of comments, they did so in response to another article on the issue.)

the last time we all "commented" on an issue we had an impact on the West Side Rag's coverage: they were a lot more aware on the Saigon Grill issue.

if you have the time, please comment on this again!! while it is not a "labor" issue per se, it is similar.
