Subject: Legislative Proposals Wanted to Address the School to Prison Pipeline
To:
schoolstopr...@googlegroups.com
Dignity in Schools at Golden Gate School of Law is organizing community conversations with Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Fiona Ma and Senator Mark Leno entitled, “Beyond the Numbers of the School to Prison Pipeline.” Students today face a number of obstacles and challenges that have caused too many of them to be pushed-out of their schools, leaving them little opportunity to achieve their potential and irreparably harming their chances of the future that they deserve. Consequently, this leads students to find themselves in the criminal justice system and prisons. We invite you to contribute ideas and specific legislative proposals which can address these issues. We are looking for proposals on a statewide level, as well as proposals for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and San Francisco School Board. (continued in attachment)
Please send proposals to dignityin...@gmail.com
Thank you.
Rick
