KO Sailing only has a few boats that US Sailing has assigned by lottery (we did not get one).

I think the going rate is about $400 – 500 for a late model laser for a weekend event.  I would fly into Houston with my son and probably cartop on a rental vehicle.  We could bring blades if need be.

My 17 year-old son has qualified this year for the U.S. Sailing Youth Championship in Corpus Christi, August 12 through 16th.  Unfortunately, Laser Performance does not have nearly enough boats available for charter at this event, and unfortunately, we have not found a way to transport my son’s boat from our home in Annapolis, Maryland to Texas.

Do you know of anyone in the Texas - Gulf area that might be willing to charter a competitive Laser?  My son would be bringing a sail and could also bring his blades, etc.

U.S. Sailing has an entry deadline this Tuesday, May 21.
