Hello:

🚀 What: 2025 Human Augmentation Summit & Exhibition
📆 When: 9 AM – 9 PM (+ Afterparty) | Saturday, August 23, 2025
📍 Where: MIT Media Lab, Cambridge, MA
👥 Who: Researchers, developers, artists, founders, futurists, and anyone curious about the augmented human future.
https://augmentationlab.org/summit

Researchers from the Augmentation Lab Residency program will be sharing their research projects. Other confirmed speakers & special guests: Stephen Wolfram, Curt Jaimungal from Theories of Everything, Nataliya Kosmyna (co-author of controversial "Your Brain on ChatGPT" study) , Pat Pataranutaporn, Albert Nerenberg.

I'll be attending. Why might this be of interest to the Boston ACX community? Well, Eliade Weismann, Ethan Kuntz, and Andrés Gómez-Emilsson from the Qualia Research Institute will be there. QRI will be exhibiting some of their research at a booth, including some of their explorations of olfactory qualia (perfumes). Andres is a "friend of the blog" and has been cited by Scott for his Symmetry Theory of Valence and his thoughts about the Dark Room Problem. He's also an expert on the Jhanas and is mentioned in Scott's article on the subject.

We are looking for more speakers who can talk about BCI or human enhancement more generally - if you're interested or have any suggestions please reach out!

You need to RSVP via the link above to attend but you can also RSVP to show you're going on Less Wrong.

Regards,

Hi,

Sorry to spam the list, but I wanted to share some updates about the Human Augmentation Summit this Saturday:

-- New exhibitors/speakers: Harry Gandhi from 1517 Fund, someone from Prospera (I think Niklas Anzinger), longevity researcher Prof. Vadim Gladyshev, and others. (Latest schedule here

-- At least one person has complained about the cost ($50 - $85). Note that lunch and dinner are included. If cost is a barrier to you attending, let me know (delton17 at gmail.com), and I'll relay that info to one of the organizers while maintaining your privacy. I think subsidies may be possible.

Regards,
