Hello everyone,

We had a request for more structured events so the next event will be lightning talks!

The first ~hour will be talks which will be ~15 min each (including questions)
After there will be informal socializing for about an hour.

Date/Time:
Thursday, December 16, 2021
6:00 PM to 8:30 PM EST

Location:
Cambridge Public Library Central
449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA
We will be in the community room (ask at front desk if you can't find it)

Confirmed talks so far:

Dan Fagella (Emerj AI Research) - "We're Going In - Three Motives Pulling Us Into the Metaverse"

Tan Zhi Xuan (MIT): "Modeling the Mistakes of Boundedly Rational Agents Within a Bayesian Theory of Mind" (based on this paper: https://arxiv.org/abs/2106.13249)

Dan Elton: something TBD on AI for medical imaging / AI safety

We are looking for people to give short presentations followed by Q&A - they can range between 5-15 minutes in length and slides are optional. (A projector and laptop will be available if you want to show slides)

If you'd like to give a talk please email bost...@gmail.com with your name and the title of your talk.

Masks are required in the library.

RSVP on LessWrong (click "add to calendar" on LessWrong to add to calendar)

Please stay tuned for an upcoming meetup (details TBD) which will be with Alexey Guzey from New Science. You can read Alexey's list of favorite SSC posts here
