All,

Because it seems we want to continue prioritizing scored Tuesday nights, and because we want to maximize participation (aiming, in part, to have events when Ian and I are both available), I am going to move forward with requesting the following as we wind down our SSA schedule drafting process:

-Keep our Mid-Atlantics on 7/28-29 (1pm start with whichever the best day is) as planned (this is with the Lasers whom are adaptable with our unique needs)

-Have the following scored Tuesdays:
--6/5 Spring Series
--6/12 Family Fun Regatta
--8/14 Summer Series
--8/21 Fall Series

There will be a gap in July but we can still have plenty of fun unscored Tuesday nights (or keep score yourselves!)

I'm told this is our second "Probationary year," which simply means we have another shot at getting our average turnout above 5 boats for our scored events.  If we're below again, we would become an "open fleet," which simply means we get fewer events.  I think we can achieve 5, and we would've last year except we had a zero turn-out for our Summer Series.  I believe the current plan will help keep things going.  I also hope we can get a few newbies or semi-newbies involved....  I know Rob Beach is thinking about joining the fleet.  There is also Adam Campion who lives up the Severn but who plans to tow his boat down by water some this summer.  And, hopefully we can get Charles Ryan and Karl Mattison out some?  And maybe some Midshipmen?  Plus, of course, all the regulars!!!

Thanks all; please pipe in with any concerns!
Tim

Tim,

Thanks for putting this together. The Schubert family will be out as much as possible. We effectively have two teams in our home so we can at times have two boats out if a boat is available.

Best regards,
Matt

The Carew family, in spite of selling our V-15, intends to borrow boats when others can’t make it to help support the fleet.  So if others are not able to make a scored event, please keep us in mind.
