V15 Nationals

 Just in case anybody is feeling ambitious about V15’s… 

2018 Vanguard 15 National Championships on August 25th and 26th.  

The event will be at the Treasure Island Sailing Center on Clipper Cove in San Francisco, where we hosted in 2015.  Charter boats will be available.  For those unfamiliar with our venue, the cove is between Yerba Buena Island (a natural hilly island at the midpoint of the Bay Bridge) and Treasure Island (a flat island built from artificial fill that used to be a naval base).  A causeway forming the west end of the cove between the two islands keeps the water flat but allows our prevailing westerly sea breeze to funnel in strong, often resulting in great conditions for planing upwind without pounding through chop.  Here's some GoPro footage I took when we hosted nationals in 2015: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCn5OG5hBOk
