View this email in your browser Severn Sailing Association Join us Tonight: Last TESOD of the year September 12: TESODs & Tunes Tonight's TESOD will feature music by the Locals, free beer and an opportunity to celebrate the life of John Potter. It's also New Member Orientation, so be on the lookout for some new faces to welcome to SSA! Remembering John Potter As you all know, SSA lost a dear family member with the passing of John Potter earlier this summer. John--who many sailors also know as Alden Bugly--will be remembered at two events this month at SSA that his children Kate and Emiry are planning, and you are invited to one, the other, or both. Thank you to all who joined us this past Sunday, tonight will be one more opportunity to celebrate and remember John.  Tuesday, September 12, will be TESOD Bugly Style! Kate and Emiry plan to help out on Race Committee, and we already have scheduled a "TESOD and Tunes" (featuring live band and free beer) for the final TESOD of the season. We'll spend some time during the evening sharing thoughts of John. The preparations for the 505 Worlds have long been underway and last Sunday the last of the keelboats were removed from the lot. We want to thank everyone who has already removed their boat and all of the others in the process of removing your boat this week to clear the lot this Sunday, September 17. We know this has been done through an extra effort for all of you and it's very much appreciated! We still have information about volunteering, parking and housing needs posted on the website and we have an opportunity that just came up to assist before the opening ceremony on September 23rd. We are in need of someone to attend the gate, let in our VIP guests and give them a warm welcome to SSA. If you are interested in participating in this capacity, please email Cathy in the office (off...@severnsailing.org).
