Alistair's to busy to do three videos, he's having to drop one. Hence, I still need one volunteer to talk about "The history of SR's electronics". This would require:

  • Being a more veteran Blueshirt, who remembers the days of yonder
  • A reasonable understanding of electronics, ideally having had some role in the development of the electronics
  • Access to all of the old kit
This isn't the most important video, but it is my personal favorite. It shows off one of the best features of SR. Constant improvement. Something we excel in compared to other STEM robotics competitions. And electronics is the best example of this. SR churns out new boards every year, is unafraid of radical redesign (Colour to QR codes), and gives it all away for free!

So getting this video made is a great piece of PR for us to use in raising awareness, recruiting teams & sponsorship money. If there's someone willing to step up to the plate, please let me know!

Olly

PS: How much work is required for media consent forms for students? I can very easily cope without filming the students, but it'd be a nice bonus if we could.

Worst case you can still make it after the summer school. Maybe try contacting some people directly.

Don't know if there are already forms. Too much. They need to be signed by parents (just the effort of trying and reaching them in the next days is too complicated imho), they need to be checked, they need to be kept after the competition.

Hi Olly-

The Smallpeice Trust collects media consent from all the students, you should be good to go.

Alistair
