June 1st Primary Election Information.Go to post: June 1st Primary Election Information.
The following information was taken from the Bernalillo County Clerk's Office web site (www.bernco.gov/clerk):
“Only registered Democrats and Republicans can cast a vote in the Primary Election,” reminds County Clerk Maggie Toulouse Oliver.Early Voting for the Primary Election gets underway May 4th at the Clerk’s Office Annex Downtown at 620 Lomas, NW beginning at 8:00 am.
Toulouse Oliver says that May 4, 2010 at 5:00 pm is also the last day to register to vote, in order to participate in the June 1st Primary.“The downtown location will be open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm through Saturday, May 29,” says Clerk Toulouse Oliver. “Sixteen additional locations will open on Saturday, May 15th and are located throughout the County. The additional locations [see list below] will also be open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Saturday. We have added one extra location this election to make it convenient and want to remind voters that they can vote at any location.”“Each of these voting locations will now have the ability to print ballots on demand depending on the precinct for each voter. In the past, we had to make available hundreds of ballot combinations for each voting site,” says Clerk Toulouse Oliver.“This process will save hundreds of thousands of dollars in ballot printing and will make certain that each voter has access to his/her ballot regardless of the Early Voting location."Absentee Ballots, which are mailed to the voters, can be requested beginning May 4th by calling the Clerk’s office at 468-1291.For more information, please visit the Clerk’s website at www.bernco.gov/clerk.
