INSTRUCTIONS TO THE GRADUANDS
1. The Graduand’s registered through online will be accommodated in the main auditorium on 
first –come, first ­ served basis. Others will be accommodated in pandal, where live CCTV
arrangements will be made available.
2. Parents will not be permitted inside the auditorium, however they will be accommodated in the
pandal (live CCTV arrangements are available). 
3. DUE TO VVIP’S VISIT, MOBILE PHONES, CAMERA’S OR ANY OTHER ELECTRONIC GADGETS ARE
STRICTLY BANNED INSIDE THE AUDITORIUM / PANDAL.
4. Kindly visit the Registration Confirmation counters a s m e n t i o n e d ( P a g e ‐ 2 ) on 24.03.2015 and 
confirm your presence.
5. Registration confirmation starts at 8.30 am and ends at 10.30 am.
6. Collect the photo identity card at the registration confirmation counter itself. Without photo ID, 
candidates will not be permitted to enter into Auditorium and Pandal.
7. Immediately after confirmation, collect the robes from the Robing counter and return it after convocation 
[Total Amount to be paid Rs. 400/‐; Hire Charges: Rs.100/‐; after deducting the hire charges, the balance 
amount will be returned after the convocation].
8. Breakfast & Lunch will be provided for Graduands and Parents (Venue: Car Parking–Behind School
of Architecture)

a n d report to the Seating arrangement committee at the Dr T. P. Ganesan Auditorium / Pandal and the 
staff members in the committee will allot the seat.
10. All the graduands attending the convocation should come in Formals (Black color dress is not permitted). 
11. Rehearsal will start at 10.30 a.m. Late comers will not be permitted to attend the convocation on any 
account.
12. DEGREE CERTIFICATES WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ON THE STAGE ONLY FOR THE Ph.D DEGREE AND
FIRST RANK HOLDERS.
13. The main convocation function starts sharply at 12.00 Noon.
14. When the procession is entering the Auditorium, the candidates and the invitees shall rise and remain 
standing until all those on the dais have taken their seats.
15. Please rise for Invocation and stand until ‘Invocation’ is over.
16. No whistling is permitted inside the auditorium / pandal. 
17. DO NOT TALK OR MURMUR INSIDE THE AUDITORIUM.
18. When the Degrees are awarded, the Director’s / Dean of the faculty of Engineering and 
Technology / S&H / Medicine / Health Sciences shall ask the graduand’s to stand and hold their 
degrees in their hands; kindly do it and then sit.
19. When the P h . D / R ank holders are called, t h e y should go to the dais in order, bow to the Chief Guest 
and The Chancellor, collect the degree and go to the seat quickly.
20. When all the candidates have been awarded degree, the Chancellor will administer the pledge and the 
graduates should repeat the pledge (in standing).
21. Immediately after the dissolution of the convocation, kindly rise for National Anthem.
22. Please remain in standing position, when the procession returns.
23. Kindly maintain ABSOLUTE SILENCE inside the auditorium / pandal.
24. No one is permitted to leave the auditorium or pandal, until VVIP’S leave the venue.
25. The Degree Certificates will not be issued to the unregistered candidates and registered but late
comers on 24.03.2015. However, they can collect the same from the Office of the COE, from
26.03.2015 (Thursday) onwards. Time: 10.00 a.m to 4.30 p.m.
