To fulfill the current and future requirements of High Voltage DC (HVDC) transmission, ABB has developed a fully computerized control and protection system using state-of-the-art computers, micro-controllers and Digital Signal Processors connected by high performance industrial standard buses and fiber optic communication links. This system called as MACH, is the most advanced and highest performing HVDC control system in the market and has gradually evolved to an unequaled installed base around the world.
INOPC-HVDC is an Engineering and Testing center for MACH, located in Chennai, India. As part of the expansion of this group, we are looking for dedicated and self-motivated engineers and managers.
MACH Control Platform - Base Application Control Engineers
This position is for the Development and Testing of Base applications for HVDC Classic and Light Projects in the Control area. The ideal candidate for this position shall have excellent knowledge and experience in HVDC Classic and Light® Control applications. He or she must able to build MACH Control System for the HVDC applications. Must have performed Functional System Testing (FST), for projects. Commissioning experience is a huge advantage.
MACH Control Platform – Base Application Protection Engineers
This position is for the Development and Testing of Base applications for HVDC Classic and Light Projects in the Protection area. The ideal candidate for this position shall have excellent knowledge and experience in HVDC Classic and Light® Protection applications. He or she must able to build MACH Control System for the HVDC applications. Must have performed Functional System Testing (FST), for projects. Commissioning experience is a huge advantage.
MACH Control Platform – System Testing Engineers
This position is for the system testing of the control system. The ideal candidate must have worked in testing of a control system or related projects with good system thinking capabilities. He or she must have good knowledge and exposure in functional block diagram programming with excellent Boolean algebra concepts. Exposure to testing of Microprocessors, Digital Signal Processors, Software Modules, and Software Tools is a big advantage.
MACH Control Platform – Cyber security Engineers
This position is for performing all cyber security related activities for the control system. The ideal candidate must have the capability to plan and implement all cybersecurity aspects for the control system. This includes but not limited to Patch Management, Product evaluations, Image Testing & Hardening and ensuring Minimum Cyber Security requirements for the control system as per ABB Technical council requirements.
MACH Control Platform – Software Development Engineers
This position is for the development of software modules, for the Control System. The ideal candidate shall have good experience for development of software modules independently and be solely responsible for the development. Exposure to Agile processes with proven experience in C#, Visual C++, .Net technologies, is preferred. Previous experience in Control System Software development or related systems, is a huge advantage.
MACH Control Platform – Hardware Engineers
These positions are for the Design and Testing of Control System Hardware, with life cycle management. The ideal candidates shall have good experience in one or many areas like, Analog and Digital Hardware design & testing, FPGA Design & testing. He or she must have deep interest in electronics, good knowledge in semiconductors, EMC etc.
MACH Control Platform – System Testing Manager
As a team manager for the control platform testing, you shall ensure that the testing requirements – Software, Hardware, Tools and Base Applications, are performed at the highest level of efficiency and quality, to the utmost satisfaction of our customers. You shall be responsible for meeting all the business targets for your team, as set by the organization. You shall have the people responsibility for your team, such as performance appraisal, talent development etc. The ideal candidate shall have experience in leading a testing team in a control system testing related areas. Exceptional engineers with great leadership skills can also be considered for this.
MACH Control Platform – Software Development Manager
As a team manager for the control platform software, you shall ensure that the team is delivering software modules at the highest level of efficiency and quality, to the utmost satisfaction of our customers. You shall be responsible for meeting all the business targets for your team, as set by the organization. You shall have the people responsibility for your team, such as performance appraisal, talent development etc. The ideal candidate shall have experience in leading a software team of not less than 6 members, with proven software deliverable responsibilities.
