Sphoorthi Oum
First of all.Thankyou for the Invitation.
MOOLA MANTRAM : A mantra is a sound, sylable, word or group of words
that are considered capable of creating transformation(mainly
spiritual transformation).Moola refers to principal/base or considered
originating from the Moolam i.e origin of creation or universe i.e
Mother Nucleus
Before Starting meditation the first Mantra, Guru Mantra or the
principal Mantra has to be chanted 9 times(as followed at
Dhyanaprasthan). It starts with the sacred syllable Oum, and ends with
Namaha.Guruji addressed in a speech that there are three letters in
sacred syllable OUM . Akaara (the letter ‘a’), Ukaara (the letter ‘u’,
Makaara (the letter ma) – these three letters. Agni (fire) begins at
the Navel Centre.Udaram begins at the Heart Centre. Makaaram (Marad)
starts at Jnana-neetra (Third eye - Located between eyebrows - For
intuition). With the combination of these three sounds – Agni – Udakam
– Marad – Trinity originates as– a mono syllable. Three digits is
equal to single digit – Omkaaram. By reciting this mantra internally -
externally - and spiritually(in meditation),changes start happening in
the body and one can receive the energy from it in many ways. This
principal Mantra, which begins with trinity(mystic syllable) relating
to the entire Universal Energy, and to its Creation(Matter),non-
duality and duality, spirituality and materiality respectively, based
on the state and condition of one's mind, whoever practices and
implements this as it is with purity in mind, thought and word they
would receive the Energy. It is considered as the Mantra of
Meditation.Yoga and Pranayam(controlled breathing) are Pre-Practices
to it.
SIGNIFICANCE OF MOOLA MANTRAM:Principal Mantra, has embedded Universal
Energy in it.By Reciting it one can grow Mentally, Materially,
Physically, Spiritually, and can turn this Physical life, which is
present between Birth and Death, towards Spirituality, and can
Comprehend and Receive that Energy from it.
In Sadhana Shibir conducted at Dhyanaprasthan,it was being told that
Moola Mantram acts like an STD connection between Guruji and
us.Whoever recites it,guruji would know where they are, what they are
doing, and if in problem, would give the solutions to it in direct or
indirect ways.
Can anyone let me know why moola mantram has to be chanted only 9
times or sometimes 3 times(as said by guruji in a speech)? Is there any
significance to it?And also about the breathing technique to be
followed while chanting moola mantram?
