Sanjaya uvaca : ( Sanjaya told )-

Drashtva   tu   pandavaneekam    vyuddam   duryodhanastada,

Aacaryamupasamgamya    raaja   vacanamabhraveeta.

Raaja   Duryodhanah   tada    =    Then King Duryodhana,

Pandavaneekam   vyuddam   drashtva    =    Looking at the  pandava's army,

Aacaryam   upasamgamya   =   Approached, Dronacarya,

Vacanam   Aabraveeta       =      Spoke this way....

From this slokam onwards Sanjaya  starts narrating the actual happenings in battle field. On seeing Pandava army the over greedy Duryodhana stunned for a moment!  In comparison with his army the enemy's army is small. Still, because of his previous demonic character and karmas, resulted in losing his self-confidence. Like a fearful child running towards mother for safty, the unsettled, shaken, Duryodhana approached Acharya Drona. When the inner equipment ( mano, buddhi, ahamkara ) is polluted, and uddesh (goal) is adharmeekam (anti-Dharma), even though the very strong army and its formation will not help, then mind becomes confused, restless. The over ambitious greedy dictators position more or less, similar only.
