The happiest moment of life lies in witnessing
growth. For instance, when a seedling is sowed in the soil and watered, and in
course of time it sprouts and shoots out of the soil. To be able to observe it
and revel in that joy is an unparalleled moment of euphoria.
A very similar feeling was experienced to watch the richness of our ancient culture resurface, as if sprouting, on finding the most conducive environment, in the form of Dassera celebrations.
Srimaan Trust identified regions where these cultural seeds erupted through the hinterlands of the villages in and around Tiruchy. Having lost their ancient glory to the modern day gadgets like Television, mobile and popular videos, these villages had begun to look like barren desserts. When the idea of organising a village Golu was initiated by our volunteers, the villagers welcomed it with open arms.
Never before had anyone thought of conducting such a happy event in the villages and hence the villagers were very receptive and enthusiastic about it. To remind ourselves that the Good ultimately wins over Evil and to recreate the magical divinity of the Supreme Lord, His Consort, the Goddess and the Alwars and Acharyas in every village. This was the only objective of organising this Golu Mahotsavam in the rural areas. A minimum of 3 steps was arranged and a display of Dasa Avataram dolls Ashtalakshmi set and Swami Ramanuja, etc. marked the 9-night festival and adorned a central part of every village. Navarathri signifies the grandeur of Thaayar, the divine mother. Hence, a Tamil version of the 100 names of the Goddess was printed as a small booklet for the villagers to perform archana. And it was indeed a blessed feast for the eyes to just be a part of the daily ritual as these villagers performed it with utmost faith and devotion seeking the well-being of all creations.
A happy occasion for all the villagers to gather in front of the golu, perform the pooja and offer the naivedyam to the Goddess and then distributing it as prasadam to the gathering. All this made us feel that the Tamil culture rejuvenated here. And the joy for all the villagers to share.

வாழ்க்கையின் மகிழ்ச்சியான தருணம் வளர்ச்சியைக் காண்பது. உதாரணமாக, ஒரு நாற்று மண்ணில் விதைக்கப்பட்டு நீர் பாய்ச்சப்படும் போது, காலப்போக்கில் அது முளைத்து மண்ணிலிருந்து வெளியேறும். அதைக் கவனித்து, மகிழ்ச்சி அடைவது ஒரு இணையற்ற பரவசம். பண்டைய கலாச்சாரத்தின் மறுபிறப்பின் செழுமையைப் பார்ப்பதற்கு மிகவும் ஒத்த உணர்வு ஏற்பட்டது, நாற்று முளைப்பதைப் போல, நவராத்திரி கொண்டாட்டம் மூலம் முளைக்கும் நம் பாரம்பரியமும் மட்டற்ற மகிழ்ச்சி அளிக்கிறது.திருச்சி மற்றும் அதனைச் சுற்றியுள்ள கிராமங்களின் நிலப்பகுதிகளில் இந்த கலாச்சார விதைகள் முளைத்த பகுதிகளை ஸ்ரீமான் அறக்கட்டளை அடையாளம் கண்டது. தொலைக்காட்சி, மொபைல் மற்றும் பிரபலமான வீடியோக்கள் போன்ற நவீன நாள் கேஜெட்களிடம் தங்கள் பண்டைய மகிமையை இழந்த நிலையில், இந்த கிராமங்கள் தரிசு நிலையில் தோன்ற ஆரம்பித்தன.கிராமத்தில் கொலு ஏற்பாடு செய்வதற்கான யோசனை எங்கள் தொண்டர்களால் தொடங்கப்பட்டபோது, கிராமவாசிகள் அதை திறந்த மனதுடன் வரவேற்றனர். கிராமங்களில் இதுபோன்ற ஒரு மகிழ்ச்சியான நிகழ்வை நடத்துவதற்கு முன்னர் யாரும் நினைத்ததில்லை, எனவே கிராமவாசிகள் அதைப் பற்றி மிகுந்த வரவேற்பையும் ஆர்வத்தையும் கொண்டிருந்தனர். நல்லது இறுதியில் தீமையை வென்றெடுக்கிறது என்பதையும், ஒவ்வொரு கிராமத்திலும் உள்ள தெய்வம் மற்றும் ஆழ்வார் , ஆச்சார்யர்களின் தெய்வீகத்தை மீண்டும் உருவாக்குவதையும் நமக்கு நினைவூட்டுவது. இந்த கொலு மஹோத்ஸவத்தை கிராமப்புறங்களில் ஏற்பாடு செய்வதற்கான ஒரே நோக்கம் இதுதான். குறைந்தபட்சம் 3 படிகள் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டன, மேலும் தசாவதாரம் பொம்மைகள், அஷ்டலட்சுமி செட் மற்றும் சுவாமி ராமானுஜர் பொம்மைகள் வழங்கப்பட்டது. நவராத்திரி விழாவின் போது ஒவ்வொரு கிராமத்தின் மைய பகுதியும் அலங்கரிக்கப்பட்டது. நவராத்திரி தெய்வீகத் தாயான தாயாரின் மகத்துவத்தைக் குறிக்கிறது. எனவே, தேவியின் 100 பெயர்களின் ஒரு தமிழ் பதிப்பு கிராம மக்களுக்கு அர்ச்சனை செய்ய ஒரு சிறிய கையேடாக அச்சிடப்பட்டது. எல்லா கிராமங்களின் நல்வாழ்வையும் தேடும் கிராமவாசிகள் மிகுந்த நம்பிக்கையுடனும் பக்தியுடனும் அதைச் செய்தது கண்களுக்கு ஒரு ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்ட விருந்தாக அமைந்தது. அனைத்து கிராம மக்களும் கொலுவின் முன் கூடி, பூஜை செய்து, நைவேத்யத்தை தேவிக்கு வழங்கியதும், பின்னர் அதை பிரசாதமாக விநியோகித்ததும் கூட்டத்திற்கு ஒரு மகிழ்ச்சியான சந்தர்ப்பம். இவையெல்லாம் தமிழ் கலாச்சாரம் புத்துயிர் பெற்றது என்பதை எங்களுக்கு உணர்த்தியது. இதை எல்லா கிராம மக்களுக்கும் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வதில் மகிழ்ச்சி.
