On a calm and quiet morning, a pious lady’s divine voice caught the attention of a little girl. Her mother was playing an audio. The girl came and sat next to her mother. The voice explained the challenges of the sacred gift of food, annadaanam, in these difficult times of COVID. After listening to the audio, the girl hurriedly went inside to her room and opened her piggy bank. And emptied it in front of her ‘surprised’ mother. When mother asked what the matter was, the girl said, “Amma, I want to give all these savings towards the ‘annadaanam’ mission. Because anyway, this money is lying in the piggy bank for a long time. At least it will help in feeding hungry mouths!” Mother couldn’t fight back her tears at the spontaneous act of ‘charity’ by her own little girl… “ My little one is now growing up!”
There was a flurry of activities that followed. The girl conducted a long distance meeting, keeping in mind the social distancing norms, with her friends and soon mobilized some more money from their respective piggy banks and convinced them to wholeheartedly contribute their best to the noble cause. And if the girl had gone the first few steps, the elder sister couldn’t be far behind. She already declared that she doesn’t need any new garments for her upcoming birthday and willingly pledged the stipulated amount towards her sister’s new found project! Satisfied at the turn of events that day, the little girl hand-crafted a neat envelope and put in carefully all the money. On the envelope, she wrote the address of Srimaan Trust. And quietly placed it at the foot of her Favourite Lord Sri Narasimha!
Early next morning, after some forethought, the girl requested her mother to accompany her to the Post Office. Seeing the envelope in her hand, mother understood that the girl wants to put the envelope in the post box. Amazed by the innocent ways of the girl, mother explained the methods in which money can be transferred and showed how ‘online transfer’ is instant and easy. Though slightly disappointed that her envelope may not be needed anymore, she accepted the idea and waited for father to come back from work so that he would do the required transaction online.
Real power to act comes not from physical/financial strength but about the deep desire and intention to help.

அமைதியான காலை பொழுதில், ஒரு பக்தியுள்ள பெண்ணின் தெய்வீக குரல் ஒரு சிறுமியின் கவனத்தை ஈர்த்தது. அவரது தாயார் ஒரு ஆடியோவை கேட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தார். சிறுமி தன் தாயின் அருகில் அமர்ந்தாள். COVID இன் இந்த கடினமான காலங்களில், உணவு பரிசான அன்னதானத்தின் சவால்களை குரல் விளக்கியது. ஆடியோவைக் கேட்டபின், சிறுமி அவசரமாக தனது அறைக்குள் சென்று தனது உண்டியலைத் திறந்தாள். அதை தனது ‘ஆச்சரியப்பட்ட’ தாயின் முன் கீழே கொட்டினால். விஷயம் என்ன என்று தாய் கேட்டபோது, அந்த சிறுமி, “அம்மா, இந்த சேமிப்புகள் அனைத்தையும்‘ அன்னதானம் ’பணிக்கு கொடுக்க விரும்புகிறேன். ஏனென்றால் எப்படியிருந்தாலும், இந்த பணம் நீண்ட காலமாக உண்டியலில் கிடக்கிறது. குறைந்த பட்சம் அது பசியுள்ள நபர்களுக்கு உணவளிக்க உதவும்! ”தனது சிறுமியின் தன்னிச்சையான ‘தொண்டின்’ செயலால் அம்மா… “என் மகள் இப்போது வளர்ந்து வருகிறாள்!” எனக் கண்ணீர் மல்க கூறினார்.
அதைத் தொடர்ந்து சில பரபரப்பு நிகழ்வுகள் நடந்தது. சிறுமி தனது நண்பர்களுடன் சமூக இடைவெளியின் விதிமுறைகளை மனதில் வைத்து ஒரு தொலை தூர சந்திப்பை நடத்தினார். மேலும் இந்த உன்னதமான காரணத்திற்காக அவர்களின் முழு மனதோடு அவரவர் உண்டியல்களிடமிருந்து பணத்தை திரட்டினாள். சிறுமியின் மூத்த சகோதரி ஒரு படி மேல் சென்று தன்னுடைய பிறந்த நாளைக்கு புத்தாடை வேண்டாம் எனக்கூறி தன்னால் முடிந்த தொகையை தன் தங்கைக்கு தருவதாக விருப்பத்துடன் உறுதியளித்தார்! அன்றைய நிகழ்வுகளில் திருப்தி அடைந்த அந்த சிறுமி ஒரு கடிதத்தை தனது கையால் வடிவமைத்து எல்லா பணத்தையும் கவனமாக வைத்தாள். கடிதத்தின் மீது, ஸ்ரீமாந் அறக்கட்டளையின் முகவரியை எழுதினார். அமைதியாக அதை அவளுக்கு பிடித்த ஸ்ரீ நரசிம்மரின் காலடியில் சமர்பித்தாள்.
அடுத்த நாள் அதிகாலையில், சிறு சிந்தனைக்கு பிறகு, சிறுமி தனது தாயை தபால் அலுவலகத்திற்கு வருமாறு கேட்டுக்கொண்டார். கையில் இருந்த கடிதத்தைப் பார்த்த தாய், தனது மகள் அந்த கடிதத்தை தபால் பெட்டியில் வைக்க விரும்புகிறாள் என்று புரிந்து கொண்டார். சிறுமியின் அப்பாவி குணத்தால் ஆச்சர்யம் அடைந்த தாய், பணத்தை மாற்றக்கூடிய வழிமுறைகளை விளக்கி, ‘ஆன்லைன் பரிமாற்றம்’ எவ்வாறு உடனடி மற்றும் எளிதானது என்பதைக் எடுத்துக்கூறினார். அவளது கடிதம் இனி தேவையில்லை என்று சற்று ஏமாற்றமடைந்தாலும், அவள் அந்த யோசனையை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, தந்தை ஆன்லைன் பரிமாற்றம் செய்வதற்காக வேலையிலிருந்து திரும்பி வரும் வரை காத்திருந்தாள்.
செயல்படுவதற்கான உண்மையான சக்தி என்பது உடல் வலிமையிலிருந்து அல்ல, ஆனால் ஆழ்ந்த ஆசையுடன் கூடிய உதவி செய்யும் நோக்கம் என்பதே.
