Real Bharat still resides in the villages. The ‘ Annadanam’ mission of Srimaan Trust is engaged in Disaster Relief activities in and around Srirangam villages for the past three months. During this time, the plight of the distressed farmers came to light. They are the worst-hit people during this unprecedented crisis and their families are at risk of collapsing.
Basically they are the givers of our sources of survival like grain, milk, vegetables, fruits etc. It is due to the sole effort of the farmers that despite the nationwide lockdown, we are managing to get food in our plates. But in return, what are we doing to them? Some are not paid sufficiently even after doing lots of hard work and are forced to bear the stress of various uncertainties.
When they approached us, they were on the verge of tears, saying that they are going through the worst phase of their lives, being jobless for 15 days in a month. Due to the lack of transportation facilities, they are unable to seek alternative source of income to feed their children. Hence, they appealed to us for daily food, provisions and even requested for jobs to meet their daily requirements. We could feel the pain in their voices when they spoke with us.
In an attempt to pay back through whatever little ways we can, Srimaan Trust volunteers have been continuously serving Annadhanam to over 10,000 people per day covering more than 40 villages in and around Srirangam. Since the demands of the people are increasing day by day, it is the right time to pay them back. We must use this blessed opportunity to help them come out of this dire situation.
The volunteers of the Trust echo this sentiment:
Though success is in big things, happiness lies in small things. And reaching out to these villages is our moment of happiness. Let us all join hands in this cause to ensure that the 'food givers' manage a decent survival during this turmoil.

உண்மையான பாரத் இன்னும் கிராமங்களில் இருக்கிறது. ஸ்ரீமான் அறக்கட்டளையின் ‘ அன்னதானம்’ பணி கடந்த மூன்று மாதங்களாக ஸ்ரீரங்கம்
மற்றும் அதைச் சுற்றியுள்ள கிராமங்களிலும் பேரிடர் நிவாரண நடவடிக்கைகளிலும் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளது. இந்த நேரத்தில், துயருற்ற விவசாயிகளின் நிலை வெளிச்சத்திற்கு வந்தது. இந்த நெருக்கடி நிலையினால் மிக மோசமாக பாதிக்கப்பட்ட விவசாயிகள் மற்றும் அவர்களது குடும்பங்கள், வீழ்ச்சியடையும் அபாயத்தில் உள்ளது.
அடிப்படையில் அவர்கள் தானியங்கள், பால், காய்கறிகள், பழங்கள் போன்ற நமது உயிர்வாழும் ஆதாரங்களை வழங்குபவர்களாக இருக்கின்றனர். நாடு தழுவிய பொது முடக்கம் இருந்தபோதிலும், நம் தட்டுகளில் உணவைப் பெறுவதற்கு
ஒரே காரணம் விவசாயிகளின் முயற்சியால் தான். ஆனால் பதிலுக்கு, நாம் அவர்களுக்கு என்ன செய்ய போகிறோம்? விவசாயிகள் கடின உழைப்பை செய்த பிறகும் போதுமான ஊதியம் வழங்கப்படுவதில்லை. அவர்கள்
பல்வேறு நிச்சயமற்ற நிலைகளின் மன அழுத்தத்தைத் தாங்க வேண்டிய கட்டாயத்தில் உள்ளனர்.
அவர்கள் எங்களை அணுகியபோது, அவர்கள் கண்ணீரின் விளிம்பில் இருந்தனர் , அவர்கள் தங்கள் வாழ்க்கையின் மிக மோசமான கட்டத்தை கடந்து செல்கிறார்கள், ஒரு மாதத்தில் 15 நாட்கள் வேலையில்லாமல் இருக்கிறார்கள் . போக்குவரத்து வசதிகள் இல்லாததால், அவர்கள் தங்கள் குழந்தைகளுக்கு உணவளிக்க மாற்று வருமான ஆதாரத்தை நாட முடியவில்லை. எனவே, அவர்கள் தினசரி உணவு, அத்தியாவசிய பொருட்களின் தேவைகளுக்காக எங்களிடம் வேண்டுகோள் விடுத்தனர், மேலும் அவர்களின் அன்றாட தேவைகளைப் பூர்த்தி செய்ய வேலைவாய்ப்புகளை கூட எங்களிடம் கோரினர். அவர்கள் எங்களுடன் பேசியபோது அவர்களின் குரல்களில் வலியை எங்களால் உணர முடிந்தது.
எங்களால் முடிந்த உதவிகளை செய்யும் முயற்சியில், ஸ்ரீரங்கம் மற்றும் அதனைச் சுற்றியுள்ள 40 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட கிராமங்களை உள்ளடக்கிய ஸ்ரீமாந் டிரஸ்ட் தன்னார்வலர்கள் நாள் ஒன்றிற்கு 10,000 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மக்களுக்கு தொடர்ந்து அன்னதான சேவை செய்து வருகின்றனர். மக்களின் கோரிக்கைகள் நாளுக்கு நாள் அதிகரித்து வருவதால், அவர்களுக்கு நன்றிக்கடனை திருப்பி செலுத்துவதற்கான சரியான நேரம் இது. இந்த மோசமான சூழ்நிலையிலிருந்து அவர்கள் வெளியே வர இந்த அற்புதமான வாய்ப்பை நாம் பயன்படுத்த வேண்டும். அறக்கட்டளையின் தன்னார்வலர்கள் இந்த உணர்வு மொழியை எதிரொலிக்கின்றனர் :
வெற்றி பெரிய விஷயங்களில் இருந்தாலும், மகிழ்ச்சி சிறிய தான் விஷயங்களில் உள்ளது.
மேலும் இந்த பேரிடரின் போது பல கிராமங்களுக்கு உதவுவது எங்களுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியான தருணம். இந்த இக்கட்டான நேரத்தில் நாம் அனைவரும் ஒன்றிணைந்து உணவு வழங்குபவர்களுக்கு நம்மால் முடிந்த வாழ்வாதாரத்தை அளிப்போம்.
