Dear members / well-wishers

 

We are pleased to inform you about the recently concluded events and the upcoming events.

 

1.      Official opening of the Club House in Adliya

Official opening of the club house was held on 12th April 2024 with the attendance of

 H.E. Sri Lankan Ambassador Madam H.M.G.R.R.K. Wijeratne Mendis. We thank all members and well-wishers, who supported the event.

2.      Avurudu Festival conducted by the Sinhala School Bahrain

For the first time, Sinhala School is conducting an open Avurudu programme for all children in Bahrain.

 It will be held on Friday 26th April 2024 at Abu Nezar Pool Budaiya. All are invited to attend and support this event.

3.      Lal Thenabadhu Memorial Cricket Tournament 2024

The popular member cricket tournament is back and it will be held at spacious Ittihad Club stadium near Adhari  

on Wednesday 01st May 2024 from 7AM onwards. Captains meeting and the Tournament draw will be held 

at the Club House on Saturday 27th April evening. Please register your teams before that date.

4.      Medical Camp organized by Sri Lankan Engineering Society

This yearly meritorious activity will be held on Wednesday 01st May 2024 at the Sri Lankan Embassy  from 7AM onwards.

5.      Vesak Celebrations: This year Vesak Poya Day will be on Thursday 21st May 2024, and as customary, 

vesak card/lantern display, religious observance and vesak Dansela will be held at the Club House.

6.      Vesak Sil Programme by Sinhala School Thursday 23rd May 2024. Venue to be announced.

7.      Club House: We are glad to inform that the Club House is now open for regular activities. Toastmasters and Engineering Society meetings already commenced. We are planning to commence weekly indoor games and other activities soon.

8.      Membership: As we are yet to commence any fund-raising activities, current day to day expenses such as rent, electricity bills are entirely met by the memberships collected from members. Therefore, we kindly request you to update your memberships and support our efforts to reactivate the club functions.
