[Sri Lanka Club Bahrain]

Dear Members:

 

One month has passed since the election of our new Executive committee and I am pleased to inform you  that we were able to conduct 3 Committee meetings so far. The followings are the key activities and the decisions we have taken during this month.

 

1.      As per the constitution provisions, with the new Exco term, Education Sub Committee was re-appointed with the following members.

·        Jayanath Saman Jinadasa (Chairman)

·        Lakmal De Silva

·        Mohammed Muneer

·        Indika Prasanna Kumara

·        Oshadha Prabash Jayasinghe

 

2.      As informed during AGM, the Club membership will be collected from January 2023 onwards @ 2BD per month. As in previous years, those who pay the full-year membership can pay a discounted fee of 20BD until the end of February.

 

3.      We have been searching for a club location and some progress has been made. Will update you once the location is finalized.

 

4.      Our first event for this year will be the “Thaipongal” celebrations on Friday 20th January 2023 8 AM onwards at Adliya Carlton Hotel. The event includes traditional rituals, chanting, songs and dances along with traditional food items. All are invited to this free event.

 

5.      Our Sinhala School is organizing the “Sinhala Language Day” on Friday 27^th January 2023 10 AM at Baan Saeng Thai Restaurant.

 

6.      We are planning to organize a Members Night/BBQ pool party on Friday 17^th February 2023. Details to follow.

 

7.      We are planning to have a “Sports Fiesta” on Friday 17^th March  2023. Details to follow.

 

8.      We are planning to have the “National New Year” Festival on 2^nd day of Eid in April  2023. Details to follow.
