[Sri Lanka Club Bahrain]

Dear Members:

Due to the summer break, there were no physical events during summer break, but I can assure you that we have been working hard on getting Ministry and Municipality approvals for the new accounts and premises, which we finally got last month. We hope to complete the bank account opening process  and  getting electricity to new premises during this month.

The following are the upcoming events.

The “SRI LANKA FEST”

The “SRI LANKA FEST” (Sri Lankan Produce and Food Mart) organized by the Sri Lankan Embassy will be held at Lulu Hyper Market premises, Juffair Mall  from 07^th  to 12^th September 2023. Opening ceremony will be on 7^th September at 6.30 PM. Our Students will be performing dances on 7^th and 8^th September. You are cordially invited to attend this event.

 

Opening of the Sinhala School New Term

New term of the Sinhala School will be started on 8^th September 2023 at 10AM at Bangladesh School premises. Kindly contact Education subcommittee or teachers for the enrolment of new students.

 

Opening of the New Club Premises

As mentioned above, we are trying to get the electricity connection and other formalities completed  during this month and open the Club House from next month. We are planning to organize several programmes at the club house in the coming months.

45th Annual Celebrations

We are glad to announce that the preparations for the 45^th Anniversary Celebrations are well underway. It will be held on 30^th November 2023 at Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel. One of the leading Bands in Colombo “REDEEMERS” will be there to entertain all of us. The organizing Committee is working hard to make this a memorable event. Member Tickets are at a discounted price of 12BD, while guest tickets will be 20BD each. Table draw will be held during the last week of October. We are currently working on the sponsorships for the event and we seek the support of members to get more sponsors.

Christmas Celebrations

We are currently coordinating with Sri Lankan Catholic Community to organize a joint Christmas Celebration as in previous Years. It is planned to be held on Thursday 14^th December 2023. Details to follow.
