Fernando,
now domiciled in Australia is an Australian National Scrabble
Champion and one of the top three in the world. Naveen is the son
of a Past
President of Sri Lanka Club Bahrain, Mr.Vimal Fernando. Naveen
started and
learned to play scrabble at the club. In 1992, Naveen went on to
become the
Gulf Scrabble Champion.
Attached is yet another feat of Naveen Fernando at a recent tournament in Australia, where he emerged as the winner. We, at Sri Lanka Club, would like to take this opportunity to wish him all the best in his future scrabble tournaments.
Scrabble is an educational board game which can be played by the young and young-at-heart. This will not only improve one's English vocabulary power, but also mould one to become a well balanced person.
