As I am sure your band/orchestra participant has informed you by now -
if they attended the banquet last night- we have a very generous
benefactor who has offered to pay for NEW BAND UNIFORMS!!!! Shedd has
raised about $13,000 and Carol will match that to provide us with new
uniforms!
So, on Monday January 6 at 5:00 pm we will commence fittings for the
new uniforms. The sooner we submit sizes and our design, which
drawings will be on display at the concert this afternoon, we will get
our uniforms. The goal is to have the uniforms completed so we can
debut them at our tournament on October 8.
Congratulations to all the band/orchestra members for a most excellent
banquet last night! I really love to see how these kids all care so
much about eachother!
There is a question about girl's attire for concerts. The attire
requirement has not changed, but there were several girls who wore
dresses which were short and, once seated for performance, proved way
too short for that activity (Winter concert)! Please be sure your
daughter has a dress or skirt that is long enough to be discreet
during performances.
See you all at the concert this afternoon. There will be refreshments
served outside the theatre starting at 1:30 for those who wish to
arrive and mingle early. Looking at the weather, we will have coffee
and hot chocolate as well.
