SRF LGC: Current Announcements for May 2013 (dated 5-04-13)

All are welcome to stay for fellowship and refreshments after the service on Sunday, May 5th.

Applications for the 2013 SRF Boys’ and Girls’ “How-To-Live” Youth Programs this summer are available online via the SRF website (http://www.yogananda-srf.org/How_to_Live_Summer_Youth_Programs.aspx#.UVfLlFfNhjs).  Scholarships are available for those who are unable to pay the registration fee.

On Friday, May 10th, a commemorative service honoring the birth anniversary of Swami Sri Yukteswar will take place starting with a meditation at 7:00 p.m. and the traditional commemorative service from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. Please bring your own flower and a monetary donation in an envelope as offerings if you are able.

 

On Saturday, May 11th, there will be a six-hour meditation with kirtan from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to commemorate the birthday anniversary of Swami Sri Yukteswar.

Because of these special commemorative services, the monthly kirtan, normally held on the second Thursday of the month, has been cancelled.

On Saturday, May 18th, the SRF Berkeley Temple will host “A Tribute to Paramahansa Yogananda’s India” with a variety of events from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are available by mail and also at the Berkeley Temple. The next monastic visit for the Los Gatos Center will be on the weekend of June 1st and 2nd.

If you are interested in attending this year’s Center Representatives Conference on the Saturday prior to the start of Convocation Week in Los Angeles, please sign the sheet on the bulletin board downstairs.

The book room, located downstairs, is open on Sunday from 12 noon to 12:30 p.m. Please do not bring food or drink into the book room or into the sanctuary.
