Los Gatos Center Announcements – July 23, 2013

On Thursday, July 25th, an evening commemorative service honoring Mahavatar Babaji begins with a period of meditation from 7:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. The commemorative takes place from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Please bring your own flower and a monetary donation in an envelope as offerings to Babaji during the ceremony.

A special message from our current SRF president, Sri Mrinalini Mata, about the sacred day of Guru Purnima, which took place yesterday on July 22nd, is available to read online at http://www.yssofindia.org/spiritual/guru_purnima%20-%202013

Please note that the Los Gatos Center will be closed during Convocation Week. No services will be held from August 4th through August 10th. Regularly scheduled services will resume on Sunday, August 11th.

If you are not currently volunteering here at the Center, opportunities abound! Not only that, but it’s now easier than ever to sign up to volunteer!! Thanks to our webmaster, Vikrant Tawade, and the web design team in India, everyone can now sign up to volunteer by going to http://www.losgatoscenter.com/webform/volunteer-signup-form.

More ushers and service readers are needed for midweek and Sunday services!! If you are a current SRF Lessons student and interested in serving as an usher, fill out the volunteer form online or sign the usher sign-up sheet on the bulletin board downstairs at the Center.

If you are a Kriyaban and wish to serve as a reader, fill out the volunteer form online or sign the sheet on the bulletin board downstairs at the Center.

Listen to what Sri Mrinalini Mata has to say about serving:
.
We say or think, “Lord, it’s too much.  I don’t want to do this; I won’t do it.  There is good that needs to be accomplished in the world, but Lord, let somebody else do it.  It’s too difficult for me to put forth that effort.
.
Then what is God going to do?  He is left with no one to work His goodness in the world.  He says, “Where are my hands? Where is my mouth? Where is my brain? On earth they are in the children I have created in My divine image.” But how many will accept the responsibility and say, “All right, Lord, here I am. I will do Your work.”

There is a suggestion box in the foyer where you can leave your comments or suggestions for the managing council. The managing council always welcomes your suggestions and can better serve the needs of the congregation when it hears your ideas and constructive feedback.

The book room, located downstairs at the Center, is open after the Sunday services from 12 noon until 12:30 p.m. The book room will be closed on August 4th because of Convocation Week.

In divine friendship,

Self-Realization Fellowship,
Los Gatos Center
