Dear Members & Friends of the Los Gatos Center,

The e-announcements' format and mode of delivery have changed in order to make subscribing and unsubscribing to the e-announcements a simpler process that puts you, the end user, in control.

If you did NOT receive the most recent e-announcements that were disseminated via the Center's website on 8-18-2013 and which should have shown up in your inbox NLT 8-19-2013 with a brief intro and an attached PDF file from sender: SRF - Los Gatos Center, please go to http://www.losgatoscenter.com/ and scroll down to the bottom left of the home page where you can subscribe to the e-announcements.

If you wish to change the email address that you use for receiving the e-announcements, please unsubscribe the old email address and then subscribe the new email address.

The e-announcements will no longer be disseminated via Gmail using our Google Group distribution list; however, for those of you who prefer to read the e-announcements as text messages vs. on a PDF file, the e-announcements will be archived at the following new location:

TIMELY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

A good neighbor reminder to all devotees: we have been asked not to park in the business parking lot across Pleasant Street. Please park in the lot across Main Street or further down Pleasant Street in the high school parking lot.

On Thursday, August 29th, a special service for Krishna to celebrate Janmashtami will take place starting with a period of meditation at 7:00 p.m. and then the traditional commemorative service from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. Please bring your own flower and a donation in an envelope as offerings to Krishna if you are able.

In September we will honor the mahasamadhi of Lahiri Mahasaya on Thursday, September 26th, and the birthday of Lahiri Mahasaya on Monday, September 30th, with traditional commemorative services.

There will be a one-day monastic-led retreat here at the Los Gatos Center on Saturday, September 28th, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This retreat is open to all who are SRF Lessons students. Please bring a bag lunch, put your name on it and leave it on a table downstairs for retrieval at lunchtime. Drinks will be provided.

The six-hour commemorative meditation honoring Lahiri Mahasaya has been rescheduled for the following Saturday, October 5th.

On Sunday, September 29th, the monks will conduct the morning services with a vegetarian lunch and fellowship to follow.

Volunteers are needed to help create floral arrangements for the altars and the foyer. Volunteers are also needed for midweek watering. Please click on the Volunteer Signup tab on the Center’s website, fill out the form and check flowers on the list of volunteer interests. You may also add your name and contact information to the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board downstairs.
    
The book room, located downstairs at the Center, is open on Sundays from 12 noon until 12:30 p.m.
