Los Gatos Center Announcements – October 10, 2012

    

Monks from Self-Realization Fellowship will be visiting the Los Gatos Center next weekend, October 13th – 14th. The monks will be leading the Sunday morning services on October 14th, after which all are invited to attend a vegetarian potluck luncheon.

 

We need everyone to bring a vegetarian dish to the potluck on Sunday, October 14th: main dishes, finger foods, Indian snacks, cut fruit, salads, and desserts. Food can be left in the kitchen prior to the Sunday morning services.

 

Long Sunday meditations will be taking place in October on the 14th, 21st, and 28th. Because of the monastic visit this weekend, the October 14th meditation will start one hour later, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

 

The sandwich-making seva, originally scheduled for Sunday, October 14th, has been postponed to Sunday, October 21st.

 

Volunteers are needed to serve as ushers for the Sunday morning services, the Tuesday and Thursday midweek services, and the Sunday long meditations. Please sign up on the sheet on the greeter’s table in the foyer or on the sheet on the bulletin board downstairs. Training will be provided.

 

Kriyaban devotees are needed to serve as Sunday School teachers. Please sign the sheet on the bulletin board downstairs. Training will be provided on an ongoing basis.

ONGOING Activities at the Los Gatos Center:

 

1.  A reminder to all that each week on Sunday morning at 9:00 AM, a Second Coming study group takes place downstairs at the Center. The point of contact is Sue Leeder: suel...@gmail.com.

 

2.  Each month there is a Thursday evening kirtan service which takes the place of the regularly scheduled 7:30 PM inspirational service. Periods of chanting are interspersed with periods of meditation. For people who like to cultivate devotion through chanting, this is a wonderful service to attend. In July, this special service will take place on July 14th.

 

3. Hatha Yoga classes are taking place on Friday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please bring your own mat, strap, block and towel or blanket to this class and enter the Los Gatos Center through the back door. No class on Friday evening, October 12th.

 

4. The book room at the Los Gatos Center is open after the Sunday Service from 12 noon to 12:30 PM.
