Los Gatos Center Announcements – October 20, 2013

All are welcome to stay after the 11:00 a.m. service today for fellowship and light refreshments.

This afternoon there will be a long meditation from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. starting with the practice of the Energization Exercises. You are welcome to come at any time during the six hours. If you arrive during a period of meditation, please meditate in front of the altar downstairs until chanting begins. There will be a short break at 5 p.m.

Are you interested in volunteering at the Los Gatos Center? Volunteering your time and energy is a wonderful way to serve Master’s work and a great way to develop friendships with other devotees. You can sign up on one of the volunteer sheets on the bulletin board downstairs or you can sign up on the Center’s website: www.losgatoscenter.com. (Click on the Volunteer Signup tab.)

You are cordially invited to attend the annual retreat of the San Francisco Meditation Group on Saturday and Sunday, November 23rd and 24th (the weekend before Thanksgiving). It will take place at the Pacific House on the beautiful Commonweal Retreat Center grounds in Bolinas, Marin County. The theme for this year is "Manifesting Harmony and Balance" and will include a guided meditation on Saturday morning. Registration information is available on the San Francisco Meditation Group’s website: http://www.srf-sanfrancisco.org. Click on Services and then Retreat Opportunities.

The book room, located downstairs at the Center, is open each Sunday from 12 noon until 12:30 p.m.

Ongoing Activities at the Los Gatos Center:

Each week on Sunday morning at 9:00 AM, a Gita meditation group takes place downstairs at the Center. The point of contact is Sue Leeder: suel...@gmail.com.

On the second Sunday of most months, volunteers make sandwiches and put together lunch bags for the less fortunate in our community. These lunch bags are handed out by a church in downtown San Jose.

A monthly kirtan service takes place on the second Thursday of most months. Occasionally if there is another event that supersedes this service (such as the timing of Convocation Week in August this year), then the kirtan service is moved to the third Thursday of the month or cancelled. Check the Special Events calendar on the Los Gatos Center website for confirmation.

Description of the Los Gatos Center Community Group:

This online community group is for the members and friends of the Los Gatos Center to share as a community beyond the activities and events that take place at the Center itself. Here you are welcome to post events, websites, books and movies, etc. that you think might be of inspiration and interest to others, post personal events that you want others in the community to know about, ask for rides to retreats, Convocation, or services (or offer to provide rides), ask for or offer room shares at Convocation, provide notices about housing and business opportunities, share thoughts about the spiritual path, and share reflections about devotees who have passed on but are still with us in our hearts and memories.

In divine friendship,
Self-Realization Fellowship,
Los Gatos Center
