FACE MUST HAVE Catalyst experience Senior Network Engineer - Router & Switch/ Wireless POSITION DESCRIPTION: A Senior Engineer in Networking –Assists with the installation, configuration and support of Cisco networking hardware and software, including routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, etc in the data center and at client sites. The engineer monitors and adjusts the performance and status of network resources. Utilizes software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose problems and factors that affect network and system performance. In the field, works directly with customer IT staff and management, and relies on judgment and experience to perform complex installations and configurations. Capable of identifying difficult, complex and unusual, as well as routine problems, errors, misconfigurations, etc. The primary onsite technical contact responsible for advising the client, project management and account management of status, proposed problem resolutions, recommendations for changes within their area of knowledge, etc. Provides technical support to internal company initiatives. Participates in the recruiting and technical interview process. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: General Characteristics: · Applies knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions. · Keeps informed of new methods and developments affecting his or her organization, and recommends new practices or changes in emphasis of programs. · Works on programs of limited complexity and scope. · Creates Run Books and SOP modifications for organization wide adoption. Technical: · Applies a thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of engineering as related to the variety of aspects of his or her organization. · Serves as the technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles and methods in the assigned area. · Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications. · Interprets, organizes, executes and coordinates assignments. · Confers with clients' IT staff and applies analysis techniques and procedures to determine hardware, software, or systems functional specifications. · Advises clients on alternate methods of solving needs or problems or recommends Conducts troubleshooting analysis to ascertain problems. · Assists in all phases of information technology projects state-of-the-art network implementation. Configures and deploys networking/VoIP equipment including infrastructure hardware and software, network management tools, routers, switches, hubs, etc. · Assists Solution Development in writing proposals which may include staffing and equipment requirements, planning, and cost analysis. · Produce quality technical documentation for complex solutions. · Manages status meetings with clients. · Works on internal projects as directed. · Conducts research and lab testing of new products as directed. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: · BSEE, BSCS, or equivalent Work Experience · 4-6 years · Catalyst experience · Layer 1 knowledge Technical Skills: · Certification attainment · Task completion volume · Advanced in networking practice area Certifications: · Two Industry Certifications · CCNP-R&S, CCNA-S or equivalent |
