Work as a Social Worker in Australia - Information inside!
If this email doesn't look like it's displaying properly, view it here.
Dear Jinsmon,
The Australian Social Work market is booming. There is a HUGE skills shortage for experienced Social Work professionals in Australia.
- Year round sunshine and the best beaches in the world
- The surf, the outback, Uluru and Aussie wildlife
- Leading standards of healthcare and excellent facilities
- A strong and prospering economy with excellent remuneration
If you are an Australian returning home or an overseas trained professional that is looking for a sea change contact us TODAY. Reed specialise in assisting Australian and overseas candidates to secure work in Australia. Here is a little bit of information to get you started:
Eligibility for Membership with Australian Association of Social Workers:
As an experienced Social Worker the best way to obtain full Australian registration is to go the AASW website.
See the link below for more information:
http://www.aasw.asn.au/whatwedo/international-qualifications
Breaking down the process
- Complete the forms on the above website
- Pay the application fee
- Individual assessment of your qualification will take place – 8 weeks
- Membership to the AASW will be granted
Social Workers holding a BA in Social Work or a Masters in Social Work will be eligible for AASW membership. Australians returning home, all you need to do is ensure that your registration is current, however if you are not an Australian/New Zealand passport holder, then you will need a working visa.
Visas:
A popular visa for candidates aged under 31 is the Working Holiday visa (417). This is a 12 month visa, which entitles the holder to work for 6 months at a time.
Another option is the Skilled Sponsored Migrant Visa (176) where the working visa is provided by a particular state that is experiencing a skills shortage.
Alternatively, a few of our clients offer Business Sponsorship (457) to work in Child Protection Only. This is a long term business visa which enables overseas employees to work and live inAustralia– which can result in you being granted permanent residency inAustralia
Overseas qualified social workers with AASW and CP experience who are eligible for the working holiday visa, we can find you a fixed term contract quickly and if you like it here, help you secure a business sponsorship visa on a permanent basis.
What are you waiting for? Don't be one of those people who always talk about it, take the leap and move to Australia now!
Kind regards
Stacey Fenemor
