Hello Swordfish!

We hope you are as excited as we are for the fifth meet of the season! We will be traveling to CCV on Monday, July 6th! Thank you to all who RSVP'd Attend/Decline for this meet. We can't express how helpful this is for Coach Mike, and we encourage you to do this NOW for all remaining meets and Champs and update the status if your situation changes!

Here is the info that you need to know and a couple of requests!

**Volunteers!! We still need 1 Clerk of Course Assistant and 6 Second Half Timers, and someone to fill the coaches cooler.  We need many volunteers and your help is vital, please log into Team Unify and sign up to volunteer for the meet here.

Meet Events: Our stroke of the week is Breaststroke, and Relays are Freestyle. Swimmers' events will be posted at the pool and on our Facebook page. Coach Mike will also be sending entries via email, so be on the lookout. Please review the entries.  If you see your swimmer's name listed and they will not be at the meet, please let Mike know immediately (mike_...@collegiate-va.org)!

Just a reminder that 8 & Under relays are always the first event of the meet. All other relays are at the end of the meet. Please do not leave early if your child is assigned to be in a relay. There will be other children in that relay unable to swim their event if your child is missing.

Arrival: The meet takes place at 6:00 pm on Monday, July 6th. Please arrive at CCV by 5:10 pm for 5:30 pm warm-ups.

Parking: Please be advised that parking is somewhat limited. All parking for the meet will initially be directed to the lower lot, located at the west end of the aquatics complex. It is best to enter through CCV's main entrance off of Three Chopt Road and make a left turn at the 4-way intersection - you will pass the pools on your right and then reach the parking area. If the lower lot near the pool is full, please proceed back to the 4-way stop sign and you may park in the upper level lot. You will then follow the foot path back down to the pool. Parking is strictly prohibited on St. Andrew's Lane, just to the north of the mail clubhouse, out of courtesy to the neighbors.

Guest Team Seating: Visiting team seating is located at the north end (lane 8) of the pool and there is also space available on the left side of the Zero Entry Family Pool, straight ahead upon entering the gatehouse. There are a limited number of chairs, so families will want to bring extra chairs and towels/blankets for seating.

Cheers: Our team will meet in the SRA seating area for cheers immediately following warm-ups.

Clerk of Course: When your swimmer’s event is announced, please send them to line up at the Clerk of Course. Parents of 8 & Unders should accompany their swimmers towards the Clerk of Course area.

Sportsmanship: Sportsmanship is a major expectation of the Swim Team.  Swimmers can demonstrate this by shaking hands/elbow bumps/congratulating their opponents at the end of their race, being on their best behavior at Clerk of Course and behind the blocks, and treating their SRA teammates with kindness and respect. Please help us by reinforcing great sportsmanship with your swimmers!

Food: The Poolside Cafe will be open at 5:30 and will offer a menu that includes dinner items and snacks. We will also be serving additional snacks and drinks outside of the Cafe. Cash and credit cards are accepted. *Please be advised that the Cafe will close at 9:00 pm*

Inclement Weather: In the case of inclement weather, we ask that swimmers and parents clear the pool. Guests are asked to wait in their cars until a determination can be made. We will follow the JRAC rule book in the event of inclement weather.

Lastly, the 8 & Under party will be held at 3:15 PM during Tuesday’s practice. THIS IS FOR ALL 8 & Unders!! Those who swim in the Antioch Meet will receive a participation ribbon. Swimmers who place 1st-6th in Monday's meet will receive "place" ribbons.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

💙💛Strength & Honor💙💛
