Dear SRA EBASG member,

Thank you again for participating in the Economics and Benefits
Analysis Specialty Group (EBASG) of the Society for Risk Analysis
(SRA). We have several new initiatives underway for 2010, and hope you
will join us!

(1) Participate in the SRA-NE Poster Session and Contest

SRA’s New England chapter (SRA-NE) is seeking posters from economists,
policy analysts, legal scholars, and others interested in risk
analysis for an exhibition and contest. The session will have two
parts: (1) a risk analysis poster exhibition open to all, and (2) a
New Researcher Poster Contest open to current students and post-
doctoral researchers, with awards for the top posters. Posters on any
topic related to the assessment and management of environmental,
health, safety, or other risks are welcome.

This session provides an unique opportunity to showcase your work, to
meet student, post-doctoral and other researchers, and to interact
with potential employers and other professionals. More information is
available in the attached flyer; abstracts are due to
sranepost...@gmail.com by March 5, 2010. We hope you will post
this notice and forward it to others who might be interested and also
attend the session yourself. It will be held in Cambridge, MA on April
1, 2010. If you have questions, please contact Amy B. Rosenstein, the
SRA-NE President, at arose...@icfi.com.

(2) Join the EBASG Discussion Group

Thanks to Aylin Sertkaya, our Secretary/Treasurer and a Vice President
and Senior Analyst at Eastern Research Group, we now have an EBASG
Google Discussion Group. To join the group, go to the EBASG website
(http://www.sra.org/ebasg/), and click on the discussion group link in
the side menu. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact
Aylin at Aylin.S...@erg.com.

(3) Help Us Improve our Links Page

The EBASG website now has a links page (http://www.sra.org/ebasg/
links.html), that includes key guidance documents of potential
interest to members. Please email suggestions for documents or other
links to add to the page to Lisa Robinson at
Lisa.A....@comcast.net.

(4) Organize a Seminar or Workshop

The EBASG is now considering options for developing seminars and
workshops on topics such as behavioral economics or the expected new
Executive Order on regulatory analysis and review. These events may be
held over the summer or in conjunction with the 2010 Annual Meeting.
If you are interested in helping us plan these or other events, please
contact Lisa at Lisa.A....@comcast.net.

(5) Submit Articles to Risk Analysis

SRA’s journal, Risk Analysis, recently expanded its number of annual
issues and the editors are very interested in articles on economics
research as well as reviews and commentary. See http://www.sra.org/journal.php
for more information.

(6) Pay Dues

Finally, please don't forget to pay your 2010 dues! They are only $10
annually, and help support the above types of activities as well as
our events at the December annual meeting. Information on payment is
available at: http://www.sra.org/ebasg/membership.html.

Please feel free to contact any of the EBASG officers – myself, Amber
Jessup (Vice-Chair), Dominic Mancini (Immediate Past-Chair) or Aylin
Sertkaya (Secretary/Treasurer) with your suggestions or concerns. We
are looking forward to an exciting year!

Best,
Lisa
