SRTS grant funds from Michigan Fitness Foundation

Hello SRTS Washtenaw Group:

I wanted to make sure you know that with extensions of the federal
transportation bill in past months, funding has been available for
Safe Routes to School grants. There is a new application form online
(they are using a paper application) and upcoming review dates are
listed on the Michigan Fitness Foundation's Safe Routes website:
http://saferoutesmichigan.org/funding Thuston Elementary in Ann
Arbor just submitted a grant and is awaiting the review process.

If you think you're going to want to apply for engineering projects,
it is critical to be in close contact with your local road authority
long before doing any grant writing. The local road authority must be
the lead applicant for the engineering section and will you need a
resolution from them (city council/road commission board/township)
saying they support the application.
