Hi Team,

Sorry these minutes from two weeks ago are a bit late!  We had another nice meeting tonight from which Jim will be sending the minutes including that our next meeting will be on August 4th.  Happy summer everyone!

SR2S Meeting 6/30/09

Attendees: Jim Rees, Todd Pascoe, Jean Rennich, Jill Miller
Next Meeting: 7/14/09

Todd presented drawings attained from Pat Cawley of the city of AA.  Thank you for your time Pat!  The documentation contained proposals for traffic calming at the intersection of Eberwhite/Madison/Mt. Pleasant/Mt. Vernon.  The drawings showed several solutions that were voted down by residents in the past, including creating one-way streets and blocking off streets resulting in cul-de-sacs.  Todd is going to follow up with the city to obtain a quote on the detailed sketch which showed a traffic circle including islands and curb extensions.

Although we have the drawings from this project from ~6 years ago, it is unclear who the driving force was in the past for this project and how the residents were polled.  A map with a polling area was shown indicating that the project received 45% support when 2/3 was needed -- the "voter turn-out" did not appear to be significant, however.

The intersection of Soule/Crest/Lutz was also discussed.  City drawings of proposed solutions from the past were not available, but the consensus was that perhaps we can draw in curb extensions on an existing map and use this for the grant proposal.

It was discussed that a combination of neighborhood, school, city, and financial support is critical for whatever traffic-calming solutions we come up in pursuit of safer routes to school.  Knowing which order in which to pursue this support along with the best solutions for troubled areas is our greatest challenge.  Todd is planning on discussing this further with Pat.

EGrAMS was discussed.  We want to get in as soon as we can.  Jean has been in contact with Alex and will follow up and get Jill and Jim set up as grant writers also.

Jim has a "Wish List from Grounds Audit"  (Items covered by bond work: 1, 2, 5, 8, some of 4)  We need to include the entire list in the grant, not just the items on Jim's most recent list to the group.

To-Do Items:

Jean - is following up with Alex to get our EGRaMS account set up.  Jill and Jean plan on meeting to check it out together.

Jill - will contact Lilly about attending one of Carpenter School's meetings.

Todd - Follow up with Pat Cawley to find out about details for the proposed $100K for the mini-roundabout solution and ask about or do a drawing for the Soule/Crest/Lutz interesection.  Todd will get price estimates for the curbside extensions.

Jim - will follow up with Henry Coddle to get drawings of what Barton Mallow is doing with the bond money.
