SR2S Meeting Sept 1 2009

Attendees: Jim Rees, Ray Fullerton, Todd Pascoe
Next Meeting: TBD (after school starts)

We began with a review of the grant application status. We all agreed that
EGrAMS, the State of Michigan web system for submitting applications, is not
easy to use. There doesn't seem to be any way to print out the application
or even the index showing which sections have been completed. We would like
to find some better way to share status.

Here is a copy of the index as of today. I have put a star in front of each
item that has been entered so far. This doesn't necessarily mean that item
is finished, but something has been entered into the system.

Todd talked about some of his interactions with the City over the Soule
crossing. Todd got the City to put in a new crosswalk on Soule, running
from the south side of Lutz, which is much better than the old crossing
running from the north side of Lutz. We would still like to see a crossing
of Soule right at the entrance to school property, and Todd thinks this may
be possible. He will continue to pursue this with the City, and will come
up with a cost estimate so we can put this project into the grant
application.

We went through the list of Infrastructure projects and tried to set
priorities on each project. I will update the list on the Google web site,
which is at
http://groups.google.com/group/sr2s-eberwhite/files?hl=en
The file name is grant-projects.txt.

At a previous meeting I reported that the City had responded to our request
for clarification as to who is responsible for maintenance of the two
footpaths behind the school (Northwood and Redeemer) by saying "are located
in the public right-of-way and are owned by the City." However, Ray reports
that when he called the City to get some maintenance done, he was told it
was the homeowner's responsibility. Unfortunately, the City employee who
drafted our response is no longer with the City, but Carsten Hohnke says
"Don't hesitate to let me know in the future if it's not getting done, and
I'll make sure to follow up with our Field Operations staff." Ray will get
his information to me and I will follow up with Carsten.

Next meeting will be after school starts, possibly the 22d.
