What weeding ....  Just wanted to add one other point.
Weeding better earlier than later because:
Earlier --- good quality composting greens, less work dealing with weeds overall
Later -- bad quality composting greens, w/ seeds, thick stems, roots (not even green!) and much more disposal work.-- they're huge, heavy;  they need more barrels, more bags ...

Thanks, Hatch

Hi all,

Let's plan a mid-week wedding session for Thursday, 5-7, in the garden?

Also, we were thinking that it would be really fun if we could barbecue afterward and do a BYOB (Bring Your Own Barbecue)...Anyone have a grill--or James are you free then?

We could weed then barbecue after!

:-)

Finally, we should coordinate a vacation plan system so that we know who is away when...I am away from Aug. 9 through 16th and would love to have someone water (if needed) and harvest veggies so they do not rot. We should plan to harvest abandoned plots and also anyone who is gone for significant times (a week or more) to avoid veggie drop and rot...Anyone wanting to water and harvest while we are out of town?

Finally, Sofia and Aidan and I cleared out Rebecca's plot of pigweed and weeds...Rebecca, you should come there and harvest. There are beautiful carrots, ready peppers, and nice tomatoes there. Other folks, let's try to keep Rebecca's veggies from rotting, etc...by picking them...until a new person takes over that plot.

Best all!

Linda

Hi all,

I'm up for the weeding session on Thursday!  Sounds like fun.  I don't have a grill to offer though, sorry.

Also, Linda I would be more than willing to water your plot while you are away Aug 9 - 16th.  Let me know if you already have an offer.

As much as I would love to weed and to BBQ, I will be out of town 8/7-8/19.  Definitely when I return.

Amy, perhaps you might also water my plot when you are watering Linda's.  Maybe Dan or Sheila (my direct neighbors) might be able to help?  Truth be told, the plot hasn't required much watering this summer, so if you all good look in on it while I'm gone, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
James
