Fellow squash players at the Y - You might have noticed a strange
metal ladder-like contraption by the noticeboard with names and
emails. This email provides more information on the Y Squash Ladder.

WHAT IS THE DCY SQUASH LADDER:

The DCY ladder is the metal thing on the left with names in it. It’s a
low tech and free and easy way
competitive games – please just fill out a card with your name and a
way to contact you (e.g. email, phone, or both) and put the card at
the bottom of the list of names.

Then just challenge 1 of the 3 names above you for a game. It’s that
easy so there’s no need to procrastinate any longer!

RULES for the DCY SQUASH LADDER

1. The first and most important rule is that anyone can join the
ladder – just write your name and a way to contact you on the card
(e.g. email, phone, or both) and challenge someone.

2. Any player may challenge any other player up to 3 ranks above their
current position.

3. If a player loses a challenge match then they must wait for 1 week
before challenging the same player again.

4. When a higher ranked player beats a lower ranked player, standings
remain unchanged.

5. When a lower ranked player beats a higher ranked player, the lower
ranked player takes the higher ranked player’s position in the ladder
and the higher ranked player will drop one rank.

6. When a player first joins, they will join the ladder at the bottom.

7. Ladder matches are best of 5 games (first to 3).

8. Before starting the match, agree the scoring system you will use,
e.g. point-a-rally to 15 points.

Please email me if you have any questions about the ladder. In
addition to the ladder, we will soon be organizing a
beginner/intermediate level tournament for the Y. Look for an email in
the next couple of weeks.

Thanks

Hey folks. How is the ladder going so far? I twisted my ankle pretty good during my last game, so I'm off the court for about another week (3 weeks with no Squash is killing me).

I am still planning to submit some DCY squash logos for everyone to decide on. They should be ready in a couple of days. Looking forward to playing with you all again.

Hi Rahsaan,

I moved up a step last week, so I can safely say that its working. Jukka might have a different opinion.

Thanks to all who were instrumental in setting up the ladder.

Regards,

Anmol

I miss playing with you guys. Just so you know, I'm at the top of the squash ladder here in Bangkok. So what if I'm the only one on it?

Rahsaan, I'm interested in seeing these DCY designs.
