Hello fellow Y squash players,

Some of you may be aware that there is a DC squash league and that the Y has entered a team for the past few years. It's now coming up to the start of the summer league so please let me know if you are interested in being part of the team this summer. We will almost certainly field a division 5 team (which plays on Monday nights) and, depending on the level of interest, may also field a division 6 team (which plays on Sunday afternoons). Some (out of date) information about the DC league can be found at this link: http://nationalcapitalsquash.org/league/overview-2/

Anyone can participate but you will need to join US Squash (which costs around $90 a year) to be eligible for the team. Other than that, you just need to be interested.

Please send me an email directly if you think you might be interested so I can include you on future correspondence. Please also indicate whether you are interested in division 5 or division 6.

Many thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

I'm interested in the squash league this summer. Is there any difference in the divisions, ie skill level, besides the day they play?

I'm basically a notch above beginner, having played off and on in college the last 4 years and sporadically over the last few months since joining the Y. I love the game and want to play more and get better and I think I have aptitude to do so, so joining a league where I could get regular games is very appealing because no one I know plays. That said, I don't want to hurt your league team by being a weak link and consistently losing to far more experienced players. Please advise whether the league would be something I should pursue, or if it'd just hurt the team.

Thanks,

William
