When you connect your portable drive, with Ceedo installed on it, to any other Windows computer, the program launches and you can get access to your personal start menu. Use it to launch any of your personal versions of programs or to access your files.
Ceedo Personal enables you to create a portable virtual desktop comprised of many of your favorite Windows applications. Create and carry your own personal desktop environment with you on a USB flash drive, portable hard drive or iPod device, and run it on any PC without installation.
For times there is some commercial USB sticks that can boot any computer into its built-in operating systems, which are mainly customized Linux and some Windows. They claim to help you turn any computer into your own working environment. Time passes and notebook computers are getting smaller, lighter and slimmer. People are taking them everywhere without considering it as a heavy and annoying tool, and those USB sticks have evolved into products like Intel Compute Stick. But back to that time, computers can't run on our fingers at a relatively low cost. USB sticks, and even portable hard drives are still expensive, and I don't own a laptop nor even a desktop computer of my own. I would like to have my portable working environment, so I've tried several solutions including PortableApps.org, MojoPac, Ceedo and U3.

...you can install any os you please and if an app you like to use messes with your registry a little more than you'd like you can just piggyback it onto the virtual machine(vm) of your choice. personally i have a 10gig vm with xp sp3 installed that houses nokia suite, itunes, google sketchup and google earth among others. apps like synfig and mixx might work nicely on a vm.
another problem is of course space and resource requirements. i personally have never run into space problems as i make it a point to have copious amount of terabytes to work with so understood if you can't go this route because you only have a 1 gig stick or pda mini-sd to work with. also the luxury of not having dual-core 2+ghz processors and a gig or more of ram to allocate to your vm makes things touchy. however, i have run an xp vm on a puppy linux install on an atom board with zero speed issues.
