Hi all!

I have now moved the code to GitHub and done a release on the existing
code as version 0.2.3.

Please fork and send a pull request with your changes.

I have now changed to use u...@datek.no for this mailing list. Don't
get confused if I appear elsewhere as u...@kubosch.no :)

Thanks Don (I mean Uwe).

Jim,  hope you had a good trip.  Since you have all the latest changes, can you please incorporate them in GitHub so that Kristian and Uwe can review them?  Thanks.

Great work guys! Looking forward to look at the new codebase on github.

Keep up the good work and, again, sorry I havent been able to be more involved!

I just wanted to make sure that people are not waiting for me for anything at this point.

Jim,  if you want me to run my local sample programs with any of your changes, please let me know.  I have already verified your last set of changes dated 10/25/2011.

Thanks,

Damodar,

I'm stuck in a work-related problem. If you can merge what you have
(which I think is the same as what I have), then it might speed things
along.

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

Since you have done the majority of the changes and you are thoroughly familiar with them, it would be best if you incorporate them in GitHub.  I won't feel comfortable doing that because I don't fully understand the extent and scope of your changes.  I just did a blackbox testing of your changes and suggested implementation for a couple of methods.  So I would rather wait until you become a bit free.  Thanks,

Folks, I'm not a GIT expert and I have (I think) the code in my local
repository (committed) but don't know how to get them back to GIThub
(Push?).

Can anyone provide me some quick guidance?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim,

If you add me on google chat, I'll guide you through it. It's a little hard to know what's going on otherwise.

A tip may be to look at $ gitk, it will visually show you where you local branch is and where the remote one is. And yes, it's $ git push that you're looking for.

Just FYI, I will be traveling in the month of February with limited access to Internet.  So I may not be able to provide much input during February.  Thanks,

Using EGit in Eclipse, when I try to do a "Push to Upstream" I get this
error:

An internal Exception occurred during push:
git://github.com/SQLDroid/SQLDroid.git:
You can't push to git://github.com/SQLDroid/SQLDroid.git

If I try to do a straight "Push" then I get this:

Can't connect to any repository: git://github.com/SQLDroid/SQLDroid.git
(An internal Exception occurred during push:
git://github.com/SQLDroid/SQLDroid.git:
You can't push to git://github.com/SQLDroid/SQLDroid.git
Use g...@github.com:SQLDroid/SQLDroid.git)

If I take the suggestion and use g...@github.com:SQLDroid/SQLDroid.git

Then I get get this:

Can't connect to any repository: g...@github.com:SQLDroid/SQLDroid.git
(An internal Exception occurred during push:
g...@github.com:SQLDroid/SQLDroid.git: push not permitted)

A screenshot of gitk is attached in case it's any use at all.

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim,

I haven't used EGit, but let me see if I can still be of any help. I don't understand why you have to specify an address to push to: normally, when you clone a repository, the url is automatically stored in the 'origin' remove. So all you should have to do is $ git push origin #(or actuaally, just git push for all your tracked branches, which master is by default).

Otherwise, you could try changing the address to git://g...@github.com:SQLDroid/SQLDroid.git.  If you're getting permission denied, it could be a ssh-key problem (I think that's used over both git:// and ssh://). Then you'll have to log into github.com and "edit profile"->"ssh public keys" and insert the one in ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub (look into ssh-keygen if there is no such file).

Hope this helps!
K.

I think that the problem is that EGit (or the dumb EGit user - you
choose) did not fork the project.

Now the code should be pushed to:

g...@github.com:ergouser/SQLDroid.git

What happens next?

Thanks,

Jim

You could try going to https://github.com/ergouser/SQLDroid and click 'push request' somewhere. Then we should be able to take that request and pull it down into the branch at SQLDroid's repo.

I have made a couple of simple comments on Jim's branch (in the file SQLDroidDatabaseMetaData.jave).  I guess you guys can see them.  Thanks,

Hello Kristian and Uwe,

How is the review process for Jim's branch coming along?  I am wondering when to expect it to be merged with the master one?

Thanks,

Never mind, I merged the commit now. Congratulations! Let's make a release!
