Is there a way to do block selection in the Spyder editor?

(like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Kwrite_block_selection.png
)

It would be really useful to have. Most editors do block selection
when you hold down Ctrl (sometimes other keys) while dragging the
mouse.

Currently it's not implemented:

Thanks for your contribution,

OK, it's a small thing, but very useful when you need it.

Until that's implemented (I realize that may be a while, if ever), it
would be nice to have a hotkey that calls up the current file (being
edited) in another editor - probably the one setup in the EDITOR
environment variable. Then if you need block selection (or anything
else the Spyder editor doesn't support), you can just hit the key,
edit using the other editor, save, and return to Spyder.

On another topic - I suggest swapping the positions of the indent/
outdent buttons on the Editor toolbar. In most editors, the outdent
button (which moves things to the left) is on the left, and vice-
versa. In Spyder's editor it's the other way around.

Cheers,
