Spyder File rename, lost errors, crashes, corrupts files, restore and recent functions fail

On multiple machines Spyder corrupts files .. it crashes eventually and gives wrong file messages  for instance if you rename files - ie change a version number after a file name, say:

ie:  save  serve,py as serve1.py it will show serve1.py but give a message serve1.py is unavailable do you want to close it.. such a basic error.. you must answer NO to retain the file...

If you do this a few times Spyder will crash .. loose everything.. and the last files will usually be a version ago. like yesterdays work, the autosave restore overwrites the current version , is inconsistent some time generations old.. auto save should be every 5 minutes,,,,

Find/Replace in a highlight section of a file will crash the app sometimes when repeated... 

Recent list pops up with nothing recent after crash ,, more certainty that this important area has been overlooked - the online error pops up repeatedly until you reboot Spyder or it crashes randomly  - and the issue reported will not co-operate, the best is C debugger - not my cup of tea
