In order to work with Java or Java Script with full funcionality (code completion etc.) you can use

Visual Studio Code.

If you are a Linux user is so easy to install:

Visit: https://code.visualstudio.com/

choose `package.deb` for example

then install with `dpkg -i  package.deb`

With Visual Studio Code running you can install extensions for a variety of porposes:

Language support for Java

Extension pack for Java... and so on.
