spyder ini for beta testing

I'd like to specify a custom .ini while running the bootstrapped
development version of Spyder. How can I do this?

I can't see anything in spyder --help options, but I am really curious what "--session=STARTUP_SESSION" parameter does?

Using "sessions" could help Steve indeed. A session is basically a
copy of the whole '.spyder2' settings folder, so it includes the .ini
file.

It's been a long time since I've actually used the feature (and I
don't know if anyone is using it on a regular basis) so I wouldn't be
surprised if it's bugging...

How do I use this feature? I have my repo off in d:\devel\spyder2.
What do I need to do to have an ini for this version?
