tabs aligned to middle and no option to change

post 5.4.1 update from 5.4.0 on Mac intel, scripts and console tabs are aligned in the middle of the pane and I have yet to find any option that changes it. I don't expect this is a new feature nor see this on the change log. Anyone having same issue or know how to change from center align to left align?
