Hi all,

On the behalf of all contributors, I'm pleased to announce that version 0.3.0 of the notebook plugin for Spyder has been released. This plugin allows you to use Jupyter notebooks inside Spyder. This is major release with new functionality; in particular the plugin now uses the new technology of JupyterLab to render notebooks. See the changelog for further details.

We recommend that you install the plugin using Anaconda, with the command: conda install -c spyder-ide spyder-notebook. To upgrade the plugin, replace "install" with "upgrade" in the command. An alternative but unsupported installation method is to use pip.

Please report bugs and feature requests on the project GitHub website: https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder-notebook

Last, but not least, we welcome any contribution that helps making Spyder an efficient scientific development and computing environment. Join us to help creating your favourite environment!

Enjoy!

Thanks for adding this feature! I'm wondering if it's possible to have a white background them for the Notebook. I generally like the Dark theme for the rest of Spyder, but the notebooks that I work on look bad with the Dark them. I use notebooks more as documentation for the code libraries I'm working on and prefer the white "paper" look to them.  Is there a way to switch only the Jupyter notebook in Spyder to a different theme?
